Lovely appearance, looks very country hotel, quite homely interior design as well. Stayed in a deluxe room, bed was very comfy, decor was good, updated but kept some country charm imo. The bathroom was really nice and spacious with a good shower. Breakfast was decent, not the best options but still enough TV was quite far from the bed No iron/iron board in room, you have to request Due to the roof section in our room (room 50) the bed was moved over towards the wardrobe, which meant it couldn't open very well. We typically live out of our suitcases on short stays so this was more of an inconvenience. TV remote didn't work had to turn off TV at wall, again minor inconvenience Creaky floorboards in common areas Room was very warm throughout, which some might say is a good thing About 20 mins drive to Bicester village and 25 to 30 mins to Oxford centre
First impression was of a friendly and helpful receptionist. We stayed 3 nights The building is historical with modern furniture in the dining area and breakfast area. All staff were helpful and friendly. The food was tasty and delicious. at a reasonable price
Fab location and beautiful hotel. Very pleasant staff, good bar, room design was modern and cosy. Super reasonable prices and only 15min from Soho Farmhouse. Only thing that needs improving is the cleaning of the rooms, there were plenty of items left behind from previous tenants.
This is a genuine family-run hotel, and you can clearly see they’re doing their very best in what is a tough industry dominated by big chains. We arrived around 8pm and they were more than happy to keep the kitchen open so we could eat, which was greatly appreciated. The menu offered a good selection of freshly prepared food and drinks. The bedroom was on the smaller side but perfectly adequate for a short stay. Breakfast was well presented with a buffet of cereals, fruit and yoghurt, along with good coffee and drinks. One thing that really stood out was the staff – genuinely welcoming and clearly committed to making your stay as enjoyable as possible. A couple of small observations: upgrading the bread to a sourdough or farmhouse loaf would elevate breakfast, and some areas of the hotel décor feel a little dated. That said, overall it offered great value for your hard-earned money, and I would definitely stay again.
The staff were amazingly patient with me and my enquiries about wanting to stay In the hotel, In the end I didn't stay as my wheelchair was too large, but I did attend a funeral after party there, and it was amazing. Again the staff on every level were superb and super helpful. They were flexible and answered all my questions and even sent photos. I would definitely recommend this venue and I have forwarded the details to friends and family wanting to stay here here for the shopping. Thanks again for an amazing service!
The team at Holt Hotel is truly wonderful! We hosted a wedding event here, and the team was nothing but excellent. We felt like VIPs all throughout. The food during our event was delectable and the wines were lush! Special mention to Mon who went above and beyond to help us make our event happen with such short notice. The rooms are excellent - we can't fault them! The breakfast was delicious, decor was stylish, and the location is perfect.
Our family party of 9 had an excellent stay at The Holt. Everyone found everything highly satisfactory. We arrived fairly late from a wedding on the Saturday night but Reception could not have been more welcoming and helpful. And the rooms had windows that opened - not every hotel has that these days. Our little party had breakfast together and the scrambled egg was unanimously agreed as the best ever served in a hotel of our experience. All the staff were charming and helpful.
Cozy, renovated, and great value We stayed here for one night on our way to Bicester Village. We were originally looking for something very spacious, and while the rooms here are actually on the smaller side, they are so nice that it didn't matter. They are fully renovated, very warm, and have pristine linens and plenty of hot water. I honestly had nothing else to wish for from the room. Highlights: Parking: Plenty of spaces surrounding the hotel (free for guests). Food: Good Full English breakfast and a popular, busy restaurant. Atmosphere: Very cute building with a nice garden (would be lovely in warm weather). We got a reasonable price, likely because of the low season. A very cozy place to stay!
